So called Christians.
People who call themselves Christians, yet have no self-respect, no respect for others, and do not even live by the Christian beliefs! Just down right irritating! You behave any way you want, treat others any way you want, and think going to church once a week and praying for your sins makes you a Christian?! You need to be slapped into REALITY!
*This is primarily in regards to Tongans who hold...

You want what you can't have.
You know that saying, “You want what you can’t have?” Yeah, its true. I hate to admit it & I’m NOT proud of it but sometimes I like a guy just cause he’s unavailable. And once he starts showing mutual feelings, I don’t feel anything towards him after! I HATE IT but I can’t help it! I didn’t think this was true until someone pointed out the past...

My two cents.
Being half Tongan & half Caucasian, I understood things from two perspectives. ONE: My Tongan family, in which they try to live and uphold their traditional ways in a modern world and TWO: my American family in which they do well for themselves but have no sense of pride or culture. My Dad always tried to convince me that my Mother and her family were trying to live in ways that were extinct....

Reading between the lines.
They say
love your family no matter what but how many times can you let them screw you up. How can Snow White love the evil queen, who killed her father so she can be free? How can Sleeping Beauty’s parents ever forget the evil fairy, who had their daughter
hidden eternally in bed? I look at the ways they sometimes treat me; that
is with no care, no consideration for my feelings at all. They...

Stereotypes.
Okay, I know that we people living in Hawaii don't know much about other cultures, but how does that make us arrogant and close-minded? I admit, there are some narrow-minded locals, but you can't say we're ALL like that. If this guy was anywhere near me, I'd slap him all way back to the mainland.
Mr. Irritating: Welcome to real life, where shit matters and people don't go to waikiki to feel cool. lol. If you think you cool in a real city then you gonna be left on ice.
Me: Hey whats wrong with Waikiki. & I'd rather be living the island life. haha
Irritating: I'm not talking about Waikiki I'm talking about the stupid locals that go to Waikiki tryna feel cool starting fights with tourists. That doesnt happen in a real city as u can see cuz if people were dying I bet locals would stay home. Lol.
Me: Lol yeah, them people make us hawai look bad. We're not all like that though.
(non important dialogue) ..........
Irritating: You have learned and experienced so much in the little time u have been there. A taste of what you have been missing living in the cocoon that is Hawaii. Experience life and new cultures. Don't waste your life stuck in the middle of some ocean surrounded by closed-mindedness.
Me: Hey come on now. We're not all that narrow-minded. Just like how you're used to nyc life, they're used to island life.
Irritating: But at least I experienced both.
Me: ( -___________________________- ) So... There ain't NOTHING WRONG with people who grow up and stay in the same place. Some dont have the opportunity to experience other cultures like i do, and some choose not to. Everyone has a preference to what type of lifestyle they wanna live. That don't make them ignorant or closeminded about other cultures or whatever . And btw, there are alot of people like yourself that have seen "real life" and decided to move to Hawaii as their new home. You cant single out every single person living in the islands as the stereotype they're portrayed as.
I seriously HATE IT when people try to judge by their perspective alone!!

Hate that I can't stay mad at anyone.
Its when you think about someone; all the bullshit they said & all the wrong they have done, you get that intense feeling of hatred against them in your gut…But then, you think about all the bullshit they went through, and the people who’ve wronged them, & that anger dissolves. Instead… you just forgive them & move on.

Religion for Tongans II
(Before I start, I want to apologize for any misspellings or grammatical errors, I’m fluent in speaking Tongan but when it comes to writing, its a little tricky)
To many of the Tongan families out there struggling to survive, whether its dealing with responsibilities here in the states, responsibilities back home in Tonga and last but not least responsibilities to the church, which is the...

Religion for Tongans
So my dad asked me how do the Tongan people have money to give to the church but not enough for rent? I looked at him, waiting for my wise mouth to start talking but nothing came out. I couldn’t think of an answer. My dad struck a point that I’ve been trying to make sense myself. I grew up with my Tongan family, so I always tried to defend our ’Tongan tradition’ whenever...
